Wasting time

Storytime: Wasting time

By: Faris Khaliq

Once upon a time, there was a young man named Adam who always struggled with procrastination. He would often waste his time on social media, watching  videos, and playing video games instead of doing his work. He knew it was a bad habit, but he couldn't seem to break free from it.

One day, Adam had an important project due for school. He had known about it for weeks, but he had put it off until the last minute. He had a week to finish the project, but he kept telling himself that he had plenty of time. As the deadline approached, Adam started to panic. He knew he had wasted too much time, and he didn't know if he could finish the project on time.

Adam decided to ask his friend, Ben, for advice. Ben was known for being very productive and efficient with his time. Ben suggested that Adam make a schedule and stick to it. He advised Adam to break the project into smaller tasks and set deadlines for each one. Ben also recommended that Adam take breaks and reward himself after completing each task. Adam thought Ben's advice was great, and he decided to give it a try. He made a schedule and started working on his project. At first, he was very productive and got a lot done. However, as time went on, he started to lose focus. He would take longer breaks than he should have and would get distracted by his phone or the TV.

Adam realized that he was still wasting time, even though he had made a schedule. He knew he had to find a way to stay focused and motivated. He decided to try a new approach. He started setting a timer for each task and would work on it until the timer went off. He also put his phone in another room and turned off the TV. At first, it was difficult for Adam to stay focused for long periods. He would get antsy and want to check his phone or take a break. However, as he continued to work, he found that he was able to stay focused for longer periods. He also found that he was getting more done in less time.

As the deadline approached, Adam was amazed at how much he had accomplished. He had finished the project a day early and had even had time to revise it. He realized that if he had started earlier and had used his time more wisely, he wouldn't have had to stress out so much. From that day forward, Adam made a conscious effort to use his time more wisely. He realized that he was wasting time.
