Shortage of clean water

75% of Pakistan's population lacks access to safe drinking water.  Experts say 62% of the drinking water supply in urban areas and 83% in rural areas is contaminated.  That is why there is an extraordinary burden of sick people in our hospitals drinking contaminated water.  Contaminated water causes more deaths worldwide than violence and accidents. Contaminated water causes three times more deaths among children under the age of 15. Unfortunately, Pakistan is also on the list of countries affected by contaminated water.  Contaminated water is a major cause of death, especially among children.  Even in urban areas of Pakistan, including rural areas, 62 to 82% of drinking water is extremely dangerous to human health, including high levels of bacteria, arsenic, nitrate and other hazardous metals.  It is common to find sewage in the water.

After all, all of us Pakistanis know that Pakistan Pakistan is strong enough to provide clean water to its citizens and we all expect the Pakistani government to resolve this issue as soon as possible.
